Acting Head of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Karachay-Cherkessia Khizir Boranukov was detained for violating his recognisance order. The court previously banned him from leaving Stavropol in connection with the investigation of the gas theft case, the main accused in which is Raul Arashukov.
Earlier, employees of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol were detained in connection with the investigation of a large gas theft case, where the main accused is the adviser to the head of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Raul Arashukov, the father of former Senator Rauf Arashukov. On June 30, it became known that Sergei Bondarenko, head of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol, was under house arrest.
The detention relates to the case of the Arashukovs. Previously, Boranukov worked at Gazprom Gas Distribution Stavropol, according to an informed source. "He was detained by officers of the Main Investigation Department of the TFR in the North Caucasus Federal District for two days for violating a preventive measure in the form of a recognisance not to leave, which was assigned to Boranukov in connection with his activities at another place of work in the Stavropol Territory."
Boranukov, 35, was appointed Acting Minister of Industry, Energy and Transport of the Karachay-Cherkessia Federal Republic in October. He spent less than a month in office, the agency noted.
Investigators consider Raul and Rauf Arashukovs involved in the murders of Aslan Zhukov and Fral Shebzukhov, as well as in the theft of gas worth 45.8 million euros. Charges were brought against another 18 people. According to the investigation, Raul Arashukov instructed his son to organise the murders of the deputy chairman of the Adyge-Khase movement Zhukov and the adviser to the head of Karachay-Cherkessia Shebzukhov. Rauf Arashukov, in turn, ordered high-ranking security officials not to investigate the murder of Zhukov. The investigation united the proceedings in the cases of the Arashukovs and three security officials, as they are accused in a common case of a criminal community.
