The authorities of the regions of the North Caucasus and the South of Russia introduced quarantines and unscheduled holidays in schools. These measures are associated with a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection.
In Dagestan, 26 schools, one kindergarten and one college are closed for quarantine, either completely or partially, including all 11 schools in the city of Buynaksk. In total, more than 12.5 thousand children have been transferred to distance learning in the federal republic.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, for all schoolchildren, except for students in the 9th and 11th-grade exams, vacations have been introduced, which will last until February 6.
In North Ossetia, 61 groups were closed in 40 kindergartens, including 19 kindergartens that completely closed.
In Ingushetia, all schoolchildren were sent on unscheduled holidays until February 2.
In Karachay-Cherkessia, all schoolchildren and students of secondary specialised educational institutions were transferred to remote work.
In the Volgograd region, 240 schools were completely or partially closed for quarantine.
Over the past day, 34 patients with confirmed COVID-19 died in the North Caucasus, the number of new cases was 3,174.
