Iranian ambassador: “Iran's trade with Armenia should reach $1 billion”

"Although Armenia is a country adjacent to the East Azerbaijan province, we have not been able to increase our trade turnover with this country by more than half a billion dollars, so we must try to increase this amount to $ 1 billion," said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

At the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce webinar on "Economic Diplomacy and Agriculture Abroad," Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri said that neighbouring countries have excellent and broad opportunities for various trade exchanges. We must have serious plans to establish contacts."

"Our country's national interests must be taken into account concerning neighbouring countries, and national interests dictate that we use every opportunity and opportunity to communicate with our neighbours, especially when other countries treat us rudely," he said. "Armenia's attractiveness is not limited to this country. Armenia is a very good bridge between the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Eurasian Union, and the European Union," said Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.

"This work is currently being done, but this is a small number. Our neighbouring regions must take specific steps with Armenia to increase this figure. Armenia has a population of about 3 million, and many of the country's neighbouring provinces have excellent climatic conditions. We can use the new agricultural technologies in this country", the ambassador added.

Deputy Speaker of Armenian Parliament: "Relations with Iran are of strategic importance for us"
