On the evening of July 25, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that his country expects concrete steps from Armenia to normalize bilateral relations.

"We are serious and resolute in normalizing relations with Armenia. We are waiting for concrete steps from Armenia, along with general words," Erdoğan said on the air of the state television channel TRT.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared similar expectations from Yerevan. "Armenia must show that it wants peace in the region by taking concrete steps," the head of Turkish diplomacy said on the air of the TRT Haber channel on July 21.

On July 11, Caucasus Watch reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Press Office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported. The Prime Minister congratulated the President on Kurban [Eid al-Adha] Bayram, and the President congratulated the Prime Minister on the upcoming Vardavar-Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. The leaders emphasized the importance they attach to the bilateral normalization process between Turkey and Armenia, strengthening the region's peace and stability. In this context, they expressed their expectation for the early implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting between the Special Representatives of their countries on July 1.
