A rally in support of Ukraine was held in Baku on February 27. Demonstrators chanted slogans against Russian President Vladimir Putin and "Slava Ukraine," "Slava Zelensky." The rally chanted anti-war slogans. There were also those who said, "Putin is a thief."
Police did not interfere in the demonstration. The participants held the national flags of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Long live the friendship of the people of Ukraine and Azerbaijan."
"Ukraine wants to build a free society, and Putin does not want to allow that." This was stated by Tofig Yagublu, a member of the Musavat Party and the National Council, who was among the participants wearing the Ukrainian flag.
The demonstators stressed that Russian troops should withdraw from Ukraine. Slogans such as "Ukraine" and "Zelensky, you are not alone" were also chanted at the rally.
At around 15:00-20:00, some plainclothes men entered the demonstrators and asked them to disperse. However, the slogan "Ukraine" continued to be chanted at the rally.
After a while, at the request of the police, most of the participants moved away from the action site.
