On March 8, a group of activists staged an "8 March" in central Baku calling for women's rights. The police did not interfere with protesters for the first time.

Activists chanted "we cannot be silent about the murders of women, suicides of women!", "mothers and sisters in the streets!", "do not be silent about violence!", "women's place is a revolution!", "a good boy will be a feminist!" "beats at home, kills in the unit: the police open it!", "destroy the house of violence, let her husband go to waste!", "my favourite scene - the fall of the patriarch!" and other slogans.

The rally also included slogans such as "arrests in time, hear the voices!", "reconciliation, investigate!", "murder of women is political!"

The rally was accompanied by police, and some activists had posters torn from their hands by the police.

One of the protesters said that all people should have equal rights, regardless of their sexual orientation.

"I want our society to be a civil society, not a male society," he said.

The statement of the Feminist Movement says that the marchers cannot be silenced by the numerous murders of women, suicides of women, gender-based discrimination, domestic violence, sexual violence, and marriage of Asians in Azerbaijan.

"We declare that no force can prevent our freedom of expression and assembly. We demand that the Azerbaijani government take effective measures to prevent violence and killings against women. Investigate crimes against women in a lawful and fair manner. Prosecute criminals. The Istanbul Convention must be adopted. All barriers to women's networking, association and struggle must be removed. Equal rights for all, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, must be ensured,” the document reads.
