The US wants to see more of its enterprises functioning in Azerbaijani territory, according to the country's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Earle Litzenberger, who spoke during an open door event at the US embassy in Baku. According to Litzenberger, successful demining and restoration of Azerbaijan's freed areas is critical for the return of former refugees to their homelands, and the US backs this effort. "In areas like energy and demining, US corporations are already operating in the freed lands," he continued.

By engaging in open bids, US corporations will be able to extend their participation in projects in the freed regions, according to Litzenberger. "For 30 years, the United States has worked with Azerbaijan's government and people on topics such as rule of law, human rights, the economy, energy, and security," Litzenberger said. According to him, the United States is willing to assist in attaining peace and creating economic and transportation linkages for the region's development.

The envoy also welcomed the people to learn about the United States' different student scholarship programmes. "In the future years, we hope you will study or visit the nation, and possibly even join the US Embassy team. I am confident that you will play a significant part in Azerbaijan's future” according to Litzenberger.

"Any dispute concerns between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be resolved by the United States," the envoy stated. The United States will assist the parties in their negotiations, according to Litzenberger. He also mentioned that the EU has lately offered help on this subject, which the US appreciates.
