Ilham Aliyev: “If Armenia sticks to its old tactics in defining borders, it will regret it”

On June 26, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Goygol, Kalbajar, and Lachin regions, the Press Office of Azerbaijani reports. Ilham Aliyev attended a ceremony to hand over a battle flag to a commando military unit as part of his visit to the Kalbajar region on Armed Forces Day.

"Six months ago, on December 24, the first commando military unit was deployed in the liberated Hadrut. Today we are opening a new commando military unit in Kalbajar. This shows that the army-building process is going fast after the Second Karabakh War. It has all the capabilities, along with other armed forces, to fulfill all the tasks facing the country, to protect our territorial integrity, and to protect our borders," he said.

The President underlined: "We are now located along the entire border. Military units have been established on all borders. For the past year and a half, we have worked day and night to strengthen our army, equip it with more modern weapons, and have all the favorable positions along the border. We achieved this. We opened the first commando military unit in Hadrut six months ago. The second commando military unit is being opened in Kalbajar today. We plan to open the next commando military unit, and thousands of Azerbaijanis will serve there. This will increase our strength."

"If Armenia sticks to its old tactics in defining the borders, tries to prolong the time, it will regret it. We are watching the actions of the revanchist forces in Armenia. Let them know. My words are written at the top of the mountain: Iron fist. It's in place, let no one forget it," he flagged.
