Jeyhun Bayramov meets Russia's special representative for normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations

On July 22, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for the normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, Igor Khovaev, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged their views on the current situation in the region, including the steps taken in various directions within the framework of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The parties stressed the importance of full implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statements signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia in order to ensure peace and security in the region. The importance of mobilizing all efforts to advance the normalization process and achieve concrete results was noted.

In April, Caucasus Watch reported that Ilham Aliyev received the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations Igor Khovaev. The parties discussed the issues of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, delimitation and demarcation of borders, and preparation of a peace agreement between the two countries based on five principles presented by the Azerbaijani side. President Aliyev highlighted the composition of the Azerbaijani delegation for preparing a peace agreement and the Azerbaijani National Commission for the delimitation and demarcation of borders between the two countries, noting that the country is ready for talks with Armenia.
