Azerbaijani State TV: "In Three Years, Not a Single Russian Soldier Will Remain in Karabakh"

On November 7, AzTV's "Hafta" analytical-informational program talked about the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Karabakh. The peacekeepers' activities were criticized in the program presented by Rovshan Mammadov, the head of the state TV channel.

"Our messages are mainly to the region's countries, more precisely, to Russia, Iran, and Europe. Do not wage a double policy," he started. Mammadov continued: "At the beginning of the meeting, we talked about the active role of Russia in the Sochi meeting and the signing of the peace process. But the audience cannot be deceived. Either tell the truth or shut up."

"We want to touch upon the arrival of Armenian billionaire Ruben Vardanyan to Karabakh. What is the essence and reason for this visit, dear Russian officials? Putin says that he is not aware of this visit. You can't fool us. It is Russia, the Kremlin, that gives instructions to Vardanyan," he added. "It is no coincidence that Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, expressed his objection to the visit of Vardanyan to Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia. I wonder how long the two games and false diplomacy will last," the head of the state TV channel emphasized. He added: "Russia is quite worried about the good relations of the Karabakh Armenians with Azerbaijan."

"Russia pulled the Vardanyan card to disrupt the process. What is Russia's interest in this? To maintain Russia's presence in Karabakh. This cannot be allowed," he said.

"Dear Russian state representatives, strategists playing double games in the Kremlin, now listen to Azerbaijan's position. First, the term for Russian peacekeepers expires in 2025 - just in three years. After three years, not a single Russian soldier will remain in Karabakh. Accelerating Russia's exit from Karabakh is also in the hands of Azerbaijan. We, the official Baku, make the decision. And we know very well what the Russian peacekeepers are doing in Karabakh," Mammadov concluded.
