"Beeline" responded to Saakashvili

The mobile operator "Beeline" denied the ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement that the company transfers the data of its subscribers to third parties.

"The statement that Beeline transmits subscriber data to any political or any other entity is a complete lie, especially since as a private company that is a member of an international group, we distance ourselves from any political activity," the company stated.

The company notes that the protection of subscriber data is not only the responsibility of Beeline as a company operating in the telecommunications industry but also the principle by which the company spends significant funds.

Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on his Facebook page that "the Russian company Beeline from its Georgian branch transferred the lists of its subscribers to the party of ex-Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.” "Also, the former president said that Beeline today it is completely under the control of the Russian FSB.”

Private company "Beeline" is a member of the international group VEON.

Veon Ltd. unites operators providing services in Russia, Pakistan, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine. The largest shareholder is Mikhail Fridman's LetterOne (47.9%).

In Georgia, Beeline Georgia, according to the National Communications Commission, occupies 26% of the local mobile communications market.
