Anatoly Bibilov, the de-facto president of Georgia's breakaway South Ossetia/Tskhinvali, has welcomed the 20 September signing of the agreement with Russia on regulating issues of dual citizenship, the separatist government-run Res news agency reported.
"The fact that the agreement was signed precisely on republic day is a clear signal and an absolutely unambiguous response to the governments who demand that Russia reverse its recognition of the (so-called) Republic of South Ossetia," Bibilov said.
Res also said that in his speech, Bibilov touched on various aspects of cooperation with Russia and the benefits it offered South Ossetians.
The agreement was signed earlier in the day by de-facto South Ossetian foreign minister Dmitry Medoyev and Russian "ambassador to South Ossetia" Marat Kulakhmetov, Res said in another report.
