On July 14, the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia, Alexander Vinnikov, and the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, met to discuss Georgia-NATO collaboration. The two met in Tbilisi to discuss Georgia's accession to NATO, especially in light of the 2022 NATO Summit in Madrid, where the alliance will unveil its new strategic vision and commit to advancing its relationship with Georgia. The summit's beneficial influence on the nation was emphasised along these lines.

According to the Foreign Ministry, special emphasis was placed on the adoption of a package of customised assistance measures for Georgia, as well as the need to reflect the relevance of the Open Door Policy and Georgia's membership aspirations in the new NATO strategic concept.

Earlier, Alexander Vinnikov said, "We will aim to organise exercises more frequently-once every two years rather than three-and we will also look for new ways to work with the European Union and other international organisations to support Georgia.” He claimed that during the NATO summit in Madrid, the Allies backed a package of specially designed assistance measures for Georgia, expressing NATO's ardent political support for that country. More precisely, it declares NATO's commitment to the Bucharest Summit's decision on Georgia's potential membership as well as support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
