On November 30, the de-facto Cabinet of Ministers of separatist Abkhazia approved a resolution on holding negotiations and signing an agreement between the government of [unrecognized] Abkhazia and the government of Syria on the mutual establishment of trade missions.
Representative offices will perform the functions of developing trade and economic relations between countries, representing the interests of their states on issues related to trade and other types of economic cooperation.
"The establishment of trade missions in no way affects the rights of individuals and legal entities of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic and maintains direct relations with each other, in particular, to conclude and execute agreements related to the implementation of trade, economic, and scientific and technical cooperation. Trade missions are not liable for the obligations of individuals and legal entities, just as individuals and legal entities are not liable for the obligations of trade missions," the report added.
By agreement of the parties, branches of trade missions may be opened in other cities of the receiving state.
